Encouraging community citizens to invite their cultural heritage authorities through their own or group initiatives to seek in responsibility for the legal protection of cultural objects in their respective mechanism in order to promote urban identity.


To raise awareness on the social-cultural issues such as: cultural buildings as an important part of the collective memory using a presentation and multimedia tool-video interview;
Stimulate the sense of social initiative and responsibility for these cultural buildings among participants through the creation of new methods of stimulating the active work of young people;
Help youth people to participate in finding solutions on how to prevent the destruction of the cultural objects which promote cultural heritage;

Step by step process: 

Description of the process:
• Define purposes of my topic with a presentation based on researches.
• Use a multimedia tool (video interview) to give an excellent case how the citizens and especially civil society can make a positive impact in the community.
• Work in groups – Finding solutions and recommendations regarding protection of cultural objects in order to perceive them as an important part of the collective memory.

Materials and resources: 

• Flip charts
• Markers
• Laptop and projector.


Awareness rising of the active citizenship in asking transparency from local authorities and in this way to create a better connection between authorities and citizens.


Advantages - This tool can produce a positive impact on encouraging youth citizens’ in active citizenship to reflect and work on increasing the cooperation with public institutions.
Disadvantage- The negligence of citizens to participate on public hearings consists at low level of accountability of public institutions.

Notes for further use: 

Tool can be upgraded with an evaluation questionnaire.

For me it was more a workshop than a tool, but it can be usefull in how to get idea to prevent destroying of cultural heritage.
