Peer to peer within open system

Step by step process:

1
• Group of participants stand together in a circle
• One in the center of the circle seated
• Statements of xenophobic situations in the society are said by the trainer
• If one of the participants in the circle identifies this situation as happening in their society, then grabs a bed sheet and put it on top of the head of the one seated in the middle
• The process is repeated and eventually a number of sheets will be on the top of the participant’s head.
• After the statements are finished; we stop, remove the sheets and ask the participant about the feelings in such position of oppression and ask the others to reflect on the situation presented in front of them.
2
• The group gather again in a circle
• Have one person in the middle seated (same one)
• Let participants express solutions to prevent such oppression from occurring in the society
• With every solution mentioned a rope is drawn on top of the head of the person in the center
• The more solutions, the more the rope becomes entangled on top of the head of the participant in the center forming a web shape representing a network between people
• When the solutions are finished, the trainer tries to put the sheets again on top of the head of the participant but it will not be possible because the ropes form some kind of protection from these types of oppression.
