A tool about Important pedagogues and pedagogical influences and Education, Pedagogy, and didactic matters.

Aim: 

To make participants have a global understanding of the Pedagogic development.

Methodology: 

Reflection groups on aims and objectives of the training activity.
Working groups, interaction between participants, sharing knowledge, attitudes and background.
Power point presentation.
Debriefing.

Step by step process: 

FIRST STEP: REFLECTION
Standing on a circle (outside or inside) the whole group reflect together with trainers about the aims and objectives of the training. 15 minutes.
SECOND STEP: PEDAGOGICAL THINKERS.
The group is divided in 4 groups of 5 - 6 participants and they are asked about the Pedagogues that they know. 15 minutes.
Back to plenary and start with the first group with the first Pedagogue they have in their list. It is asked to the other groups if they have the same one. If there is not a common name, the Pedagogue's names are written in a flip chart. Groups may agree or disagree about the order and the names. 20 minutes.
STEP THREE: POWER POINT.
A power point presentation is introduced to the whole group. The Pedagogues appear without names and historical location, so participants have to guess who is who: Who is this Pedagogue, which civilizations/countries does he/she belongs, when does he/she live?
At the end, attention is focused on the coincidences between the names in the flip chart and the Pedagogues in the Power Point.
As conclusion, as second Power Point about the four facts for Education

Materials and resources: 

* Audiovisual equipment: laptop/PC + projector + speakers + screen / big wall
* Power point presentation PEDAGOGY TOTEM 1
* Handout PEDAGOGY TOTEM 1 RELEVANT CHARACTERS for trainers.
* Power Point THE 4 FACTORS FOR EDUCATION.
* Flip chart
* Markers, writers, blank paper sheets, tape, etc.

Outcomes: 

At the end, participant would be able to connect the Pedagogues professions with their own professional background and the countries where the Pedagogue's influence has been more relevant.
