Riikka is the Executive Director at the Finnish Peace Education Institute; an activist and educator with more than ten years’ experience in youth work, equality and peace education. She has worked with youth workers, policy makers, civil society representatives, educators and youth movements in several countries in Europe, Africa and Asia designing and implementing strategic interventions to enhance their competence to promote peaceful coexistence, social transformation and inclusion. She has also moderated long-term dialogue processes among members of different youth movements in post-conflict societies, as well as worked for a range of international agencies and local grassroots organizations including several years of experience in working with young people in contexts such as Nepal, Sri Lanka and Palestine. Currently she works as an Executive Director for the Peace Education Institute in Finland and is looking for new ways to inspire young people to change their societies and make a world a better place for all.
