Practical information

Rovaniemi is located in Finnish Lapland.

The venue and accommodation will be under the same roof - Hotel Santa Claus. It is a modern hotel in the heart of Rovaniemi.

The basic amenities of all room types are: TV, internet access, safety box, adjustable heating, air-conditioning, electric kettle, ironing board, trouser press, bathtub, shower, hair dryer. Evening sauna and buffet breakfast are included in the room price.

Please note! The accommodation is in shared twin rooms.

On Monday 4 November there will be dinner served. From Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 November there will be breakfast, lunch and dinner served daily. If you have informed us special dietaries those will be noticed in the food arrangements. Close to the hotel there are many services, such as grocery stores.


You can get to Rovaniemi either straight by plane or by train from Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

By plane
Rovaniemi Airport (RVN) is in passenger numbers one of the busiest airports in Finland. Traffic to Rovaniemi is especially busy during the winter season. Rovaniemi Airport is located about 10 km from Rovaniemi city centre.

By rail
You can fly to Helsinki and then take the train to Rovaniemi. The trip from Helsinki to Rovaniemi can take up to 12 hours. You can check the timetables and fairs here:


In case you come to Rovaniemi by train. The railway station is located about 1,5 km from the hotel. You can get there in 20 min by walk.
You can get from Rovaniemi airport to the hotel with bus or taxi.

Airport bus operates to and from the Rovaniemi bus station, and hotels as well. The bus from the airport leaves immediately after the arrival of Finnair (AY) and Norwegian (DY) flights. The bus takes you to the hotels in the city center, it stops also at Santa's Hotel Santa Claus. Price: 7€

Taxis are on call at the taxi stand in front of the airport during the scheduled arrival times. In case there is no taxi at the airport, you can book it. Lähitaksi Rovaniemi is an original and traditional taxi in Rovaniemi. Lähitaksi Rovaniemi: +358 (0)200 88000. Price:

Be aware of “unlicensed taxes”, they can charge way too much. It’s good to ask the driver for the approximate price of the ride beforehand. Before using taxi please also make sure if your NA / sending organization agrees to cover the taxi costs.

Official currency in Finland is Euro (€). 1 and 2 cent coins, while valid in other euro zone countries, are not used in Finland. ATMs (OTTO) work with the most common credit cards and this is an easy way to get Euros for your use. There are two separate slots. The blue one is for chip cards, whereas the yellow one is for non-chip cards that only have a magnetic stripe.
