With youth exchanges, the learning period extends much further than just the youth exchange activity itself where all the participating groups of young people meet. The period of learning opportunities within a youth exchange span from the early drafts of the exchange application and last until the very end of the project. Moreover, one of the youth groups – the host group – does not even leave their country. This is why youth exchanges are an exceptional form of youth work. The activities of an individual youth group in its local environment are linked with the international space for several months. The youth exchange is a cooperation of different youth groups from different countries for the purpose of the project, including the main event – a week or more spent living and working together. This exceptional guide takes you through the different stages, emphasising opportunities for learning along the way. Published by SALTO SEE and MOVIT.
