A CULTURAL GAME IN EuroMed CONTEXT

A tool to better understand the cultural frame in the EuroMed context and to promote team building.

Aim: 

This tool is aimed to raise awareness about how to create an exercise related with the cultural background of countries participating in EuroMed context.

Methodology: 

Interaction between participants, sharing knowledge, cultural background, etc...
Working groups.
Debriefing.

Step by step process: 

STEP 1:
The whole group is divided in small groups (4 - 5 participants) ensuring the adequate balance in terms of represented countries in each group.
A handout is giving to each group, asking them to guess or build in working groups what the content is about and to introduce its production to the rest of the group, group by group.
STEP 2:
Debriefing: each working group explains its work about the document.
STEP 3:
What's behind is introduced by the PDF, the answers, the wine... how is it possible to export countries by Muslim countries? Mainly Saudi Arabia: shocking the people!
Open a discussion with participants.

Materials and resources: 

* Handout with the countries and the ciphers for participants.
* Handout with the answer for the trainer. A copy (PDF)could be used in the projector.
* Audiovisual equipment: laptop/PC + projector + speakers + screen/big wall for projecting.

Outcomes: 

To raise awareness between participants about how culture is in reality, despite of stereotypes and previous knowledge.
To shock participants.

Notes for further use: 

In the open discussion, other topics could be touched, according to the stereotypes commented by participants.
The video is the report of the SEMINAR in Rome, could be used by trainers to realize the frame of the tool, not to be used with participants.
Don't use THE WINE GAME name for the tool or participants will realize what's behind the exercise.
